Replace missing teeth with fixed cosmetic crowns.
If you have a missing tooth or teeth they can generally be replaced by an implant, a removable denture or a fixed dental bridge. A dental bridge literally bridges the gaps created by missing teeth. A dental bridge consists of a pontic - a false tooth - which is fused to one or more porcelain crowns to fill in the area left by a missing tooth. The crown or crowns holding the false tooth - pontic - in position is cemented to your tooth or teeth with a dental adhesive and cannot be removed as you would be able to do with a removable denture. Dental Bridge Work The two crowns holding it in place that are attached onto your teeth on each side of the false tooth. This is known as a fixed bridge. This procedure is used to replace one or more missing teeth. Fixed bridges cannot be taken out of your mouth as you might do with removable partial dentures. Bridges restore your smile, the shape of your face, your ability to chew and speak, prevents your remaining teeth from drifting out of position, and distiributes your biting forces evenly across all your teeth. The different types of bridges include cantilever bridges, 3 unit bridges, "Maryland" bridges, long span multiple unit bridges and implant supported bridges.
